Mothering Sunday Inspiration

This is the day when we all stop for a minute and give thanks for the mother that brought us into the world or for the woman that took on the mothering role in order to raise us the best way they could. For richer, for poorer. In sickness and in health. Til death do us part...

The following words of inspiration are my gift to all you wonderful mothers out there who are just doing the best you know how, whether you have limited resources and are struggling to make it to the end of the month, or whether you have great wealth and are trying to find the best way to raise your child to be balanced and stand on his own two feet. Whether you and your child are blessed with health or are challenged by some sort of dis-ease. Whether you are going it alone, or have a partner for support. Know that you are a great mother just as you are. Know that whatever it is that you are unable to give your child provides him with a wonderful challenge and gives your child a great opportunity to flex his spiritual, financial, mental or emotional muscles and go out and get it for himself. Never underestimate the greatness of your contribution towards your individual child and towards the raising of the next generation.

Pass on the Love

If you are looking for some way to uplift and inspire your own mother and want to send her an e-gift why not copy and paste this website address and email it to her with love. Or photocopy this article, or one of the other articles on this site: A tribute to mothers, Inspiring quotes for mothers, Affirmations for mothers, add a few words of your own or a few little drawings and send it to her through the post. She'll love it! Trust me. I know. I'm a Mum!

There is nothing super-human about mothers. We are just normal human beings trying to fulfill a sacred role and doing the best we can with the enormous responsibility. Forgive us when we get it wrong and know that you always have within you the ability to give yourself those things that you were unable to receive from us. These are the lessons of life. This is the human experience. Go get what it is you think you lack. Give it to yourself. And give thanks for all the wonderful things your Mum did give you.

To mothers everywhere:
You are an inspiring role model

You are the still point at the centre of your child's world

You stand up for what is important to you
You are the most important influence in your child's life
You are your child's lifelong teacher
You lead and inspire
You love your child even when you differ
You and your child are constantly growing together
You deserve the best
May all good things come to you
